As part of the University of Sussex Students’ Union our main aim is to provide tenants with a supportive and positive lettings experience. We will guide you through each step of the process to ensure that you feel fully informed and prepared for your tenancy. Throughout the tenancy we will continue to offer you support and advice, regardless of whether your property is managed by us or your landlord.

We inspect all properties before renting them out to make sure they're suitable and work with reputable landlords to ensure we offer only good quality accommodation.

Pop in and see us on campus in Falmer House (ground floor next to Falmer Bar), or off campus at 91 Lewes Road (close to Sainsburys) to say hello and discuss your property needs.

We are one of the partners of the Rent Smart Brighton & Hove group. Working alongside Brighton and Hove City Council, Brighton Housing Trust, Shelter, iHowz Landlord Association, Brighton University and Students’ Union, and other housing groups throughout the city in order to work together to improve the experience for all renters in the city.

We are members of the SafeAgent scheme, the Property Redress scheme, The Property Ombudsman and also NALS Client Money Protection Scheme (CMP).

Tenant requirements

All applicants will be expected to meet the following criteria:

  • Be over 18 years of age
  • Be able to sign the tenancy agreement prior to anyone moving into a property
  • Be able to provide a UK based guarantor or alternatively pay 6 months of rent in advance. The University also offers a small number of students each year the chance to be part of their guarantee scheme.
